Throughout these past few weeks as I've been on this journey, I've learned quite a bit about this topic that, before, was completely foreign to me. Mindfulness is a couple of things, but in the most general sense, it is being aware of your own thought process and emotions, as well as formulating positive actions in response to those thoughts and emotions. Mindfulness requires active participation and focus, which makes it somewhat difficult at times, but the numerous benefits of mindful thinking make the effort well worth it. Mindful thinking will consistently lead you to make better choices and ultimately live a higher quality of life. If more people practiced mindfulness, there would be significantly less conflict and strife in this world. I'm glad that I learned about this concept because I know that it's going to be the cornerstone of my recovery and ultimately the better life that I know I'll soon be living. Think about what you're doing, saying, thinking, and feeling and you'll notice things getting significantly better, I know I sure have.
