PragerU

If I'm ever feeling like watching something particularly cringe inducing, I look up one of the many Prager "University" videos. The thing about them is that, they would be funny if they weren't so incredibly harmful to society. They're harmful because there is a large population of gullible individuals who look at these videos and actually believe the material that they project. Many people can't see them for what they are, and effectively fall into their trap. I find PragerU particularly obnoxious because their bias is so strongly obvious. It's painfully apparent that they exist for the sole purpose of spreading far right conservative ideology with little to no regard for facts, and they do that incredibly well. Another thing that really irks me about the channel is that they have the audacity, the gall, to use the label of a "University" as if their series of nonsensical five minute videos are a viable substitute for an actual education. The idea that some people think that by subscribing to their channel, they are receiving knowledge that is equal to the ACTUAL university education that I received over the course of four years is just unsettling. One more aspect of them that particularly makes me cringe is that on their page they claim to have the "greatest minds of today" narrate their videos, when the fact is that these individuals are far from intellectuals, and are more incredibly slanted peddlers with an obvious agenda. It's hard for me to wrap my head around the fact that there are so many people who eat their crap up like their lives depend on it. The channel has gained an incredibly loyal following of gullible fools that in turn, further spread their ilk. Not only are their videos absurd, the history of the channel should make their true purpose even more obvious. The channel was founded by a far right nut job, Dennis Prager, who clearly sees no merit in facts unless they serve his agenda, and it is funded by big oil companies, as if everything else didn't make their purpose apparent enough. I've been known to frequent political articles and posts on social media in my free time and every time I see an individual share a PragerU video as support for their argument, I lose a little bit more faith in humanity. It may sound like I'm being melodramatic, but the fact of the matter is that I'm really not. PragerU is a profoundly harmful platform that is effectively regressing any and all individuals that buy into their rhetoric, and it must be confronted with actual unbiased facts whenever it rears its ugly head. I'll finish by being a bit more vulgar because I think this is one of the few instances where vulgarity is called for: PragerU is a steaming pile of shit that is downright detrimental to society. They are nothing more, and nothing less.
