I've definitely bashed the president a fair amount on here, that would be an understatement. One of my readers floated to me the idea of writing one positive entry about Trump, so I'm going to give it a shot. I have to admit, there's not many things that I like about him but there are some traits of his that could be considered redeeming qualities. For one thing, whether you would consider it to be a good thing or not, he definitely keeps the world and other world leaders on their toes. He's unpredictable, which in some instances is actually a very good thing. While our allies have a hard time predicting what our president might do, so to do our enemies, which could definitely be considered a positive thing. Another thing that could be considered a positive quality of his is that, like him or not, you have to admit that he's entertaining. That's to be expected considering how long he partook in the reality television scene. As a man who flourished in that environment for so long, he knows how to draw attention, he knows how to make headlines, and he knows how to put on a show. Trump is a natural showman, so that comes as no surprise. Something else that could be considered a positive trait is that, despite the fact that he often doesn't know what he's talking about, he really knows how to puff out his chest and put on the appearance of a "strong man". While doing so begets little merit if there isn't intelligence to back it up, it still is something that seems to come very easily to him, and that can be useful because it lets our enemies know that he definitely wouldn't back down and wouldn't hesitate to make unpopular decisions concerning standing up to them. That's another positive quality of his; while he seems to care greatly what everyone thinks of him, he certainly isn't afraid to be anything but himself. He does and says controversial things without a second thought, he speaks his mind freely (often to the dismay of the citizens of the United States) and he is unabashedly true to himself. Despite the fact that I don't believe that he's a good person, he definitely doesn't put on heirs or try to be something he's not, and that, in a way, is an admirable trait. Love him or hate him, I have to admit, he is still my president. I don't want to see him fail, because if he does, the rest of the country goes down with him. As much as I hate it, he's in charge, and I believe that it is important to look not only at a leaders negative traits, but reflect and appreciate the positive ones as well.
