The case could definitely be made that Adolf Hitler is the most evil man in history. His name is synonymous wit hatred, genocide, murder, and fascist vitriol. The man committed unspeakable crimes against humanity during his time on this planet and anyone who has even a remedial understanding of history is well aware of this. He is without a doubt, the most infamous figure of the twentieth century, and will continue to be known as one of the most evil figures of all time. One of the scariest things about Hitler was how charismatic and spellbinding his speeches were. He was able to seduce an entire nation with his silver tongued rhetoric, and quickly gained a ravenous pack of followers that would blindly do his bidding. Hitler was and still is the epitome of the worst aspects of humanity. He represents evil, hatred, and, unfortunately, power. It's terrifying to look back on how the world just sort of sat back as he bullied and butchered his way to power. Sure there were plenty of Germans who opposed him, but his thugs swiftly and efficiently swept them out of the picture. I'm not sure what made Hitler into the person he was. I'm not sure whether his heart was always filled with such powerful malice, or if there was something that turned him into the monster that he was. It really is a shame that he turned out the way he did, he truly was a talented artist. I've seen many of his works, and it saddens me to know that he could have walked a completely different path in life. He could have further pursued a career in the arts and contributed to the worlds cultural scene, but instead, he accepted his rejection from the Venice art school and went down the dark and destructive path that he did. Not only was he a manifestation of all of the malicious aspects of humanity, he had the unique ability to bring all that hatred out of others. He was able to darken the hearts of millions and tap into all of their fears, insecurities, and hatred, and brought about, arguably, the most tragic time in history. Another particularly horrifying thing about Adolf Hitler is the effect he continues to have today. People who are prone to bigotry and hatred, such as skin heads, neo Nazis, and various other hate groups, naturally gravitate towards his disturbing rhetoric and ideas. Malicious people read his book, Mein Kampf, and bring from it the malicious side of them into prominent existence. While I haven't read his book, and have no intention to do so, it is horrifying to know that so many people out there accept the racist and hateful manifesto as the cornerstone of their world view. The silver lining here, is that as we all know, him and his thugs were defeated. Humanity saw his bigotry and malice for what it was and eliminated it like the parasite on the body of humanity that it was. I have faith that, even though there will inevitably be figures like him in the future, society will do the same thing and vanquish them. I only hope that we constantly remind ourselves of the horror that was Adolf Hitler and his movement, so that we can see similar future figures and groups for what they are and route them out before they are able to get to power and commit the same unspeakable actions. As you know, I'm not very religious, but I do think that if any figure in history could be considered the "anti-Christ" it would be Adolf Hitler. The world is full of terrifying things, toxic ideas, and figures that will do their utmost to bring those ideas into a place where they can actually be implemented. It falls on each and every one of us to see when this is starting to happen and snuff it out before such historical tragedies can repeat themselves.
