It can't be stressed enough how crucial it is for our psychological, emotional, and physical health, that we take time for ourselves. We all need breaks from time to time. We all need to take time to decompress, relax, and get away from all of the persistent stressors that are prevalent in our daily lives. Taking leisure time isn't being lazy, rather it is the cornerstone of recharging and getting ourselves ready to get back at life and truly being able to exert ourselves to our fullest potential. Too many people think that it's a sort of badge of honor to exhaust themselves. They think that they need to be constantly moving in their lives and that taking time off makes them "lazy" and "unproductive" when in reality, doing this helps us to be more productive and successful in our endeavors. I personally believe, and I'm sure that there have been studies to confirm this, that those who set time aside for themselves tend to be happier and more in touch with what is really important in life. Take time off every once in a while, take that nap, read that book, kick back and watch Netflix, because it will do you a lot of good to have some personal time every now and then. Now, that's not to say that there's no such thing as too much time off, there absolutely is, but it is so important to have set intervals of downtime in order to recharge your batteries. Relax, it'll do you a lot of good.
