Freedom is one of the most important things in the world to me. To be able to do what I want, to be able to say what I want, and to be able to make what I want out of my life is what I hold dearest to my heart. I'm incredibly grateful that I was born in this country, because for the most part, my freedoms are guaranteed. I can do and say what I want so long as it doesn't harm others or interfere with the freedoms of them. I think, however, that there are certain limitations on freedom. We shouldn't be able to hurt or steal from others. We don't have the right to destroy all of the things that we don't like, frustrating as that may be. Still though, we can, for the most part, in the United States of America, do most of the things that we desire. There are so many people around the world who don't get to enjoy the freedoms that we do. People, all over, live in a state of constant oppression and I don't think that we here in a free country, appreciate enough what we have. I think that with freedom comes a certain responsibility to do something significant with it. To make something out of our lives and impact the world for the better. Many people use the cliché "freedom isn't free" and to some extent, that is true, which is why we need to savor and appreciate what we have. Countless people have fought and died to secure the kind of free society that we have. The freedom that we enjoy is built on the blood of patriots who believed with all their hearts that what we have was worth dying for. Not doing something significant with what we have been given is an insult to all of them. Freedom is beautiful, it is liberating, and it's the very principle that allows me to be expressing my opinions at this very moment on here. Savor what you have, because not everyone is so lucky.
