In my opinion, astrology is just a fun little thing we use to amuse ourselves. I don't think that there's really any truth behind it, and any time an astrological reading matches up with our real lives, it's nothing more than a coincidence. That doesn't change the fact that astrology is fun and interesting. We can still enjoy it and read our signs predictions from time to time, but it's unwise to take it seriously. One of the first reasons I found not to believe in astrology early on, is that the general traits that are supposedly exhibited by people of my sign (Aries) are mostly, if not completely absent in my case. Still, I do find it amusing to look at astrological readings. Not because I believe there is truth to them or take them seriously, but purely because they are entertaining. Some people take astrology very seriously, they believe that their personality and fate are truly determined by the stars in the sky. While I think this is ludicrous, I wouldn't make fun of or look down on someone for thinking this way, similarly to how I wouldn't belittle someone for their religious views. Obviously an individuals religious inclinations should be taken much more seriously than the superstition exhibited in astrology, but in a way they are similar in that they can't be scientifically proven to be relevant. Astrology is a very interesting subject. Fantasy based, but interesting. Maybe the stars really do determine our destiny, who can say without uncertainty that they don't? While I think that's highly unlikely, and that most likely we determine our own fate, I recognize that I can't prove one hundred percent that the heavens above don't play a role in the directions our lives take, or the fates that befall us.
