"You are what you eat." I'm not sure who exactly said that first, or if it's just a saying with anonymous origins, but it's a saying that I need to think of more often. My diet isn't terrible, but it could definitely be better. I eat my fair share of vegetables, and I'm definitely fine on grains, but more meat and fruit in my diet wouldn't kill me. I'm proud of myself for almost entirely removing junk food from my diet because a while ago I had a nasty habit of picking up "comfort food" from the local gas station or pharmacy. I get the sense that my eating habits are somewhat middle of the road. I say this because, while I see many people with healthier eating habits than myself, I also see plenty of people with diets so unhealthy that it never even crossed my mind to eat in the fashion that they do. Still, that's not an excuse to be complacent with my current diet. It's something that I should pay closer attention to since, and I'm well aware, I could definitely stand to lose a few pounds. I have many unhealthy habits, but my source of nutrition shouldn't be one of them. It's all a matter of self accountability. No one makes you eat unhealthy, it's all on the individual.
