The Beatles are, and I'm in no way exaggerating when I say this, one of the most influential bands of all time. They inspire not only their generation, but all subsequent generations that came after their time. I honestly can't say which song or album of theirs is my definite favorite. The White Album, Sergeant Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band and Abbey Road are some of my favorites albums. Maxwell's Silver Hammer, Mean Mr. Mustard, Lady Madonna, Rocky Raccoon, and Eleanor Rigby are among some of my favorite Beatles songs but there are countless more I could name if I had the time to think about it. The Beatles had so many themes and concepts throughout their songs. Love, happiness, fear, jealousy, politics, and sadness just to name a few. They told stories with their songs. They painted pictures and, in a sense, created their own world through their music. Hell, there have even been cartoons made to accompany the songs of the Beatles. I, as I'm sure along with everyone else, will never forget the first time I heard the Beatles. They have an unmistakable sound, voice, and style that I could pick out from hundreds of bands. The Beatles are an inspiring example of the powerful impact that music can have on the world. Even if you don't particularly enjoy the music of the Beatles, you can't deny the cultural influence they've had on society. It's really amazing how, not only do the Beatles have an influence on the music scene, they impact the cultural landscape of this world we live in. In the sixties, what was known as "Beatlemania" spread across the world like a wildfire. As they say "Every woman wanted them, and every man wanted to be them." It should also be mentioned that they were the last classically trained music group. The Beatles aren't, however, free from controversy. There was the time when John Lennon said they were bigger than Jesus, which caused an enormous outpouring of outrage among fans and the general public alike. There was also the time when they admitted to smoking pot which caused a large uproar as well. Drugs and boisterous claims aside, they are still and always will be one of my favorite bands of all time. They're music moves me in ways that nobody else can. Hearing the Beatles is a whole experience in and of itself. It's both a simplistic, and complex phenomenon that no one else has been able to completely capture since. I know it sounds like I'm just the biggest Beatles fanboy in the world, but it can't be helped. I can definitely imagine that I'm not the only one though. They're a defining cultural icon of the music scene and they will continue to have a massive effect for many years to come.
