Money is the source of both so many fortunes, and so many misfortunes in the world. Many of us think that money or material wealth will make us happy. However those that have accumulated vast amounts of monetary wealth will tell you that simply isn't the case. Happiness is something that nobody and nothing besides yourself can give to you. I will admit that money can make us comfortable, but there is a profound difference between comfort and happiness. Money may be able to put a roof over our heads, and put food in our stomachs, but it wont fulfill our psychological, emotional, and spiritual needs. Those needs aren't nearly as simple to meet as our physical ones. I'm not going to lie, it would be nice to have a large amount of money. I'm sure I would be quite content for a long time if I had a fortune, but I have a strong feeling that sooner or later that wealth would cease to bring me happiness and contentment. We don't find real happiness in wealth, we find it in others, we find it in experiences, and we find it in ourselves. That makes it a much more difficult need to meet. Even though money essentially runs the world, it causes far too many to lose sight of what's important.
