Just as winning teaches us many things, so too does losing. Losing teaches us humility and practicality. It teaches us the harsh lesson that there are and always will be people in the world who are better than us. It teaches us that life can't be all sunshine and rainbows all the time. How we respond to loss will make or break the process of whether it makes us progress or regress. If we take a loss as a humbling learning experience, growth is inevitable. However, if we let it damage us and drain our sense of self worth, it will conversely cause us to deteriorate. I've said it many times before, but I'll say it again because it's relevant; life is made up of ups and downs, highs and lows, success and failure. Winning and losing are two sides of the same coin and we need to come to accept that if we truly want to move forward in life. Nobody likes to lose, but, and I know it's a cliché saying, it helps to build character. This is an absolutely crucial step in order for us to not only achieve success, but to truly appreciate it. You are bound to lose at some point, that's out of your control, but how you choose to react to a loss is entirely up to you.
