I don't know as much about Hinduism as I do about other world religions but there are a few things I know about the religion and the cultural impact it has. Obviously the vast majority of Hindus are in India, and most of it's societal effects are felt there. Many people believe Hinduism is a polytheistic religion, and in a way it is, but from what I know, they consider each of their thousands of deities as aspects of the one true reality; Brahmin. I also know that the three most significant gods in the religion are the creator, the sustainer, and the destroyer. These are particularly profound because they represent three extremely significant aspects of the reality of the very temporary world that we live in. Hinduism is a very diverse religion with many different deities and denominations but there are a few beliefs that, as far as I know, most if not all of them adhere to. For example; the sacred nature of cows. I love the deep sense of spirituality that the adherents of Hinduism typically exhibit. They have given the world some of its wisest philosophers and profound concepts. Even though the overwhelming majority of Hindus are in India, and the most part of its wisdom still lies in that nation, we can all benefit from learning more about this fascinating religion.
