The really wonderful thing about first impressions is that each time they are new opportunities for you to project the best version of yourself. You can start on the right foot and really form a long lasting, worthwhile and mutually beneficial relationship with a person, group, place, or thing. Obviously every first impression you give of yourself isn't going to go well or be perfect. Sometimes some of our flaws will make themselves known right off the bat, but that's ok, because we can still show our positive traits afterwards. There are times, unfortunately, when we project a false image of ourselves during the experience of a first impression. I'm far from innocent of this. I've, at times, cultivated a mirage of myself to people I was just meeting for the first time. I've learned not to do this because sooner or later, it will always come back to haunt you. Lies always do one way or another. I'm not saying you have to be excessively honest when approaching first impressions, I'm just saying that from my own personal experience, being misleading is never a good idea.
