What does integrity mean to me? To me, integrity is only something you can give yourself. It's the thing that allows you to sleep soundly at night. It's the thing that allows you to look in the mirror and be satisfied with what you see. Integrity is what you feel when you not only hold convictions and a certain moral code, but it is living up to and upholding that moral code. Integrity isn't an easy thing to obtain and maintain. All too often the temptation to do what is easy overpowers the sense of duty we have to do what we know is right. While integrity isn't an easy thing to maintain, it is more than worth the effort. When we have integrity we can hold our heads up high because we know we are behaving as morally upright individuals. When we have integrity, we look at the world through a clearer lens and we make the world around us a better place for everyone in general. Again, having integrity is profoundly difficult for many people, but I truly believe the potential to achieve and maintain it in us.
