Responsibility

I wouldn't consider myself either a totally responsible, or a totally irresponsible person. Growing up, my parents did their best to instill a sense of commitment and dutifulness in me, and, to an extent, they succeeded. Any time that I fail someone, every time I let someone down in one way or another, the sense of guilt I experience is very nearly unbearable. On the flip side, the feeling of pride when I make good on responsibility is one of the best feelings I've ever had the pleasure of encountering. I think that before we die, life will consistently put us through trials and tribulations, and at some point or another we will all be forced to handle responsibility. How we choose to handle that responsibility is entirely up to the individual tasked with said duty. We can either do what we know we need to do, or we can be selfish and shirk our duty. Each person approaches responsibility differently. Well rounded people embrace it, while the lazy or indifferent blow it off. However, I know from personal experience that failing to be responsible will always come back to bite you every single time.
