The Supreme Court

I personally believe that there is no way to be too careful about deciding who should sit among all of the supreme court justices. I also believe that there are many traits that would disqualify someone from being eligible to take on such a role. Being a sexual predator would be a pretty damn big one. The supreme court deals with matters of such grave importance that affect all of us, therefore someone who is so messed up in the head that they believe they can not only commit sexual assault, but get away with it as well, are fundamentally unqualified to be in a position to make rulings on such important matters. A supreme court justice needs to be of sound moral standing above all. That, in my opinion, is the most crucial trait, and I would hope that the vast majority of people agree. Justice shouldn't be partisan. Justice shouldn't serve an agenda. Justice shouldn't just apply in cases of lowly average people breaking the law, rather it should treat everyone of all socioeconomic standings equally. Those that would deny wrongdoing, whether thirty years or five minutes ago, when they know that their guilt is true, not only don't belong on the supreme court, they don't belong in our justice system at all. Even though my beliefs do skew left, I believe that a balanced supreme court is best for everyone. I don't think justice should be partisan. However, this administration is very obviously trying to create a lopsided court, and I think that for the sake of justice in general, they should be stopped at all costs. These days it seems the country is getting more divided by the hour, but justice doesn't care about what political party you ascribe to or what personal beliefs you hold. Justice should act out of the pure desire of fairness, and anyone who would try to change that is not only an enemy of justice, but a menace to society. From what I know, supreme court justices serve for life, which is why it is so incredibly crucial that someone of malicious moral build not be allowed into such a position.
