This is a topic that absolutely drives me crazy when people argue about it. Let's go over one crucial fact: the United States of America is the only modernized country on the planet that doesn't have universal health care. So many people who are against state provided health care often use the talking point that we can't afford it, while simultaneously they say that we've got plenty of money for the overinflated military industrial complex that we annually spend countless amounts of money on. I just don't understand how people can say that health care is a luxury that only those who can afford it should receive. That absolutely infuriates me. If anything is a basic human right, it's health care. No one should have to suffer dealing with whatever condition or injury they have because they can't afford insurance. While the Affordable Care Act, subsequently known as "Obamacare" is far from perfect, I believe it is a crucial first step towards our nation providing health care for all. Yes it's had its fair share of bugs, namely the website issues, but it's absolutely important because of how many people it covered with basic insurance that has saved many lives. I'll admit, I'm not a complete expert on health care, but I know enough about it to be able to say that it's something no one should have to go without simply because they can't afford it. Health care is a basic human right. Period.
