Since my last entry was somewhat dark I thought I'd balance things out by writing on a more uplifting topic. Animals are such a fantastic part of life. So many of them can do such amazing things. Whether it be a salmon swimming against a mighty current up stream, an ant lifting objects ten times its size, or a cheetah running at mind boggling speeds, animals truly are amazing. We've learned so much from animals. We've designed transportation after them, and we've made countless scientific leaps simply by observing the creatures that we share this little blue ball with. If you heard of a human doing half of the things that some animals are able to do, it's safe to say that your mind would be sufficiently blown. Animals inhabit every nook and cranny of this world, including environments that we couldn't possibly hope to survive in. They are able to inhabit places such as the bottom of the ocean and other hostile environments that we need to utilize the utmost of our human innovation to simply explore. Putting the amazing abilities aside, there are some things animals can do that may seem small but are equally as impressive and important. Pets, for one, do so much for us that we all too often take for granted. It's amazing when you think about it, how an animal can become such a close part of a family. The empathy they can show, and the happiness that they bring, lightens up our days. I still find it amusing that after all the years I've had my dogs, they still lose their minds every time that I come home. It's truly heart warming to know that my return means so much to these creatures. I know that most people can relate to that but all too often we take these bonds for granted. Pets love unconditionally and that is something truly amazing. Animals are amazing things to behold. They are well oiled machines built from millions of years of evolution in order to do the amazing things that they do. We've learned a lot from animals but they still have so many more amazing things to teach us.
