Although our dreams are often nonsensical and quite strange, I feel that they are all significant because they are, for the most part, essentially manifestations of our inner psyche. I think that each dream we have comes from a place where our minds are totally uninhibited and are allowed to run as wild as they can. People are chaotic and irrational by nature so it only makes sense that the windows into our inner selves would be as well. I know that often times when I have a dream it involves people, places, or things, that I had been particularly hung up on at the time. However, there have also been elements to my dreams that I still can't figure out to this day, and I've come to accept that I probably never will. A lot of dreams we have, we keep to ourselves because they resemble the side of us that we would otherwise feel far to vulnerable to expose. For instance, if one dreams about a particular person, they may or may not feel inclined to tell that person in the waking world, obviously depending on the context of the dream. Other dreams we have simply make no sense at all so there's little reason to tell anybody anyway, unless we feel they would amuse or provide a good conversational piece. I used to have a book that provided interpretations of what aspects of dreams might mean. I wish for the love of God that I could find that book because, even though the interpretations were often far off base, some of them were spot on to the point that it was scary. That book detailed the deeper meanings behind various objects, people, places, feelings and situations that we may find ourselves in in our sleep. Some concepts were omens of things to come, which I felt would really only be taken seriously by those who firmly believe in superstition, but others were indicators of how the dreamer is feeling in their waking life and it was those indicators that I found to be the most accurate. Although the book was mainly superstitious bordering on the occult, it was still very entertaining to get a look into the symbolism and subsequent meanings behind what I've experienced in my sleep. However, truth be told, I think that dreams aren't so much magical omens as they are windows into our id. I think that they are a combination of manifestations of the chaotic and nonsensical side of our minds, and our deepest feelings that we ourselves may not even realize we are experiencing. No matter what you think of the dreams you may have, it can't be debated that they are, if anything, entertaining and a welcome change of pace from the monotony that we often find ourselves experiencing in the waking world.
