Even though most people know well enough that our superstitious tendencies don't really effect our lives or the world we live in, many of us still adhere to certain superstitious habits. Whether it be the old cliches; four leafed clovers, rabbits feet, broken mirrors, etc, or more specific quirks that are unique to each individual person. I'm not a very superstitious person but I do have a few superstitions that I believe in religiously. They're somewhat personal so I don't feel quite comfortable sharing them here, at least not yet. Life in general is a game of chance, so I don't see a problem with each of us having our own little habits that help us get through each day. Do I believe in luck? Well, yes. I think some things in life are just meant to happen and that in the greater scheme of things there are both fortunes and misfortunes that we are just destined to experience. Even though I know good luck charms don't really have any effect on the events that unfold in our lives, I do know that they give an individual confidence in whatever endeavor they are pursuing and that confidence makes it more likely that an individual will perform better in said endeavor. I want to believe in karma but it's just been disproved on so many occasions. I've seen horrible people have great luck, and I've seen truly good people experience one misfortune after another despite all the good they've done for the world and those around them. Still, it's very satisfying to see someone who has done something bad, in turn experience misfortune themselves. It's kind of like watching the world balance itself out. It's also a rewarding feeling when after doing good, you in turn yourself experience good things. No matter what your superstition is, it can be said without a doubt that it effects how we behave and look at the world, which in that sense, does make it real to an extent. To wrap things up, if you're reading this, I hope you have a lucky day and that good things eventually come your way.
