Taking care of yourself isn't always easy but the benefits are well worth it. Over the past few weeks I've been taking gradual steps towards treating my body better and living an overall more healthy lifestyle. First I started with changing my diet. I quit eating out for both the financial and bodily benefits. Doing that alone has made a big difference in how I feel about myself. After that I started exercising on a daily basis, forcing myself to make a habit of going to the gym, lifting, running, etc. There haven't just been physical benefits from these recent lifestyle changes, there have also been psychological perks. Overall I just feel better about myself, I'm happier and my outlook on life has become more positive. I've grown to love the sense of accomplishment after doing strenuous physical activities and eating right. The best part is knowing that if I keep this up, the benefits will just keep building. I'm not terribly overweight but I could stand to lose a few and I know that if I keep this up, that goal can be reached. Before these changes, I wasn't exactly in bad shape, but I've grown to have the mentality that there's always room for improvement. Being kind to your body is always a good choice and I'm glad that I'm taking steps to keep myself healthy and happy. I'm at a pretty good place in my life because I've found a balance between work, leisure and health. Even though I've still got a long road ahead, I'm glad I'm making concrete steps and an honest effort to get there.
