I think happiness means something different for everyone. It might mean being successful, it might mean having friends, it might mean having the material possessions you desire, it might mean feeling loved, it might mean taking care of your physical self, it might mean anything. I don't think, however, that it's possible for someone to be a completely happy person 100% of the time. Sooner or later we all run into low points in our lives when we feel down and that's ok. Life is made up of ups and downs, that's just how things work. What does happiness mean to me? It's hard to narrow it down to one specific thing. I'd have to say that one thing that makes me happy is when I'm being productive. I crave a sense of purpose and drive. That feeling of accomplishment is one thing that makes me happy. However that's obviously not my only source of happiness. Another big source of happiness for me is knowing that there are people out there that care about what's going on in my life. Knowing that you're not alone is something that everyone can find happiness in. We as people are naturally social creatures, therefore even the most antisocial person craves the company of others from time to time. Having goals is another thing that makes me happy. Having something to strive for, something to look forward to. Happiness is what keeps us moving through life. That rush of hormones pumping through our brain is what keeps us going. Without it, what's the point really?
